Smallsword

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Smallsword by an unknown artist. The sword has a long, narrow blade with an intricate design etched into it. The hilt is made of metal, featuring a rounded knob at the top, followed by a short, narrow section with a decorative pattern. A curved metal piece extends from the hilt to form a partial loop on the left side. Below this, there is a crossguard with a flat, wide section on either side. The grip is long and thin. The sword stands upright, with a small, stacked set of books placed at its base. The background is plain and light-colored.
