Pollaxe

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Pollaxe by artist features a silver-colored metal weapon with a long wooden handle. The weapon has a broad, curved blade on one side, resembling an axe head with a rounded edge. A three-leaf clover or flower-shaped design is engraved on the axe head. On the opposite side of the handle from the axe head, there is a protruding, triangular spike or point. Above the handle, a long, thin, pointed dagger or spike extends upwards. The handle appears to have a silver-colored metal inlay with diamond-shaped patterns and is wrapped in a dark brown material, possibly wood, with a textured surface. The background of the image is a light gray color.
