Fauchard

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Fauchard by has a long, pointed blade with a slight curve. The blade is silver and has a decorative pattern etched into it. There is a distinctive protrusion on the blade, near the hilt, with a shape resembling a bird or a dragon. The hilt appears to have a brown wooden or horn handle and a silver metal guard and pommel. The guard is intricately designed with a pattern. The background of the image is a plain gray color.
