The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Rapier has a long, slender, straight silver metal blade. The hilt is made of dark metal. A metal quillon curves to the left and right from the crossguard. A curved knuckle guard loops around to the right then back to the left and attaches to a cylindrical pommel with a small spherical knob on top. The grip is covered with a textured material appearing as a series of small dots. The background is gray.
