Metal sword guard with rounded rectangular shape and curved sides. Central oval-shaped hole. Gray metal with blue patina and brown discoloration. Horizontal line across top with red and gold color. Oval-shaped cutout in center with Japanese characters. Relief sculpture of octopus on right side with tentacles and suckers. Two small circular objects on bottom left, one resembling a shell.
