Dish with Bamboo Leaves

Ogata Kenzan

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Round ceramic dish with a wide, shallow shape. The dish has a beige background with dark brown and blue lines and shapes resembling bamboo leaves. The lines and shapes are irregular and scattered across the surface. The rim of the dish is uneven and rough, with some areas appearing to be a darker brown color. The background of the image is a gradient that transitions from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom. The dish casts a shadow on the surface below it.
