The fish at the top of the image faces left and slightly toward the viewer; the fish below it on the left faces left; and the fish at the bottom faces left. The background of the painting resembles water, with wavy gray lines. On the right side of the image, there is a vertical line of black Japanese characters, with two red Japanese characters below them. The painting has a beige background with a brown border.
