The large fish is on the left side and oriented to the left with its tail on the right, while the small fish is below and to the right of the large fish, also facing left. There are several branches with red flowers behind and to the right of the fish. The background is beige with several vertical columns of Japanese characters on either side. The image has a rectangular shape with a slightly darker border around the edges.
