Rapier

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Rapier has a long, slender metal blade. The hilt is predominantly metal with a cylindrical pommel at the top. A short section of coiled metal connects the pommel to the rest of the hilt. A circular guard extends from the hilt with two bar-shaped quillons extending perpendicularly in opposite directions. A thin piece of curved metal loops around the hilt from the guard. The background is gray.
