Guisarme

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Guisarme by an unknown artist depicts a medieval weapon with a long, thin, pointed top. Two curved protrusions extend on either side of the top, with the right one curving upward and the left extending out to the side. A short, thin protrusion extends out from the bottom on either side. The weapon has a textured, gray surface with darker gray and black spots. A tan-colored band wraps around the bottom. The weapon fills most of the left side of the image. The background is solid light gray.
