Roncone of the Bodyguard of the Gonzaga Family

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Roncone of the Bodyguard of the Gonzaga Family shows a large sword with a long, pointed blade. The blade is primarily silver with visible signs of wear and aging. A distinctive feature is the large, curved hook-like protrusion on the left side near the top of the blade. The hilt has a crossguard with three prongs on each side and a brown handle. The sword is mounted on a wall with light blue and white horizontal stripes. A partial view of another weapon's curved blade is visible on the right side.
