Halberd

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a silver-colored halberd, by an unknown artist titled "Halberd". The halberd has a long, narrow, pointed blade with a slight tapering towards the tip. The blade has a central ridge running along its length and shows signs of wear with some dark spots and scratches. Attached to the bottom of the blade are two curved projections, resembling claws or hooks, one on each side, pointing downwards. The bottom of the halberd features a short, rectangular piece of metal with a circular rivet, likely part of the handle attachment. A small portion of the handle is visible, appearing to be made of dark wood. The halberd is set against a plain light gray background.
